Today we discuss “The Greatest Sports Movies” BUT we aren’t some normal podcast so of course our pics are weird. All of us played at least high school level sports and Producer Bill played D1 football but we are all nerds to the core and our talk proves it. This one has some serious laughs and insights from both sides of the nerd/jock coin. Amongst the films discussed are obvious pics like Field Of Dreams, Any Given Sunday, A League of Their Own, White Men Can’t Jump, etc. but we get into stuff like Uncut Gems, Moneyball, and Teen Wolf as well. So don’t be scared to head into the locker room with the meatheads…we’ll keep you safe.

“The Greatest Immortal'' is where this episode starts but Ed, Ron, and Producer Bill quickly find themselves discussing what their individual goals would be if they could not die. Sure there’s some talk about Galactus, The Highlander, demons, vampires like Lestat, and such but the episode is very much a Rorschach test. Fantasies we’ve never told anyone bubble to the surface and questions abound. Does morality remain a part of your life FOREVER if you know you’ll never actually “meet your maker”? Anybody can be a good person for 70 years, what about a thousand? Conversely, is it possible, even probable, that you’d become a great person on a long enough timeline? With all that time to work on yourself couldn’t you become anything you wanted? Why or why not? What would your goals be and how would that change over time? This ep is basically our interrogation of the concept of belief systems through a pop culture lens. Yeah, we’re deep. Dive in!

Everybody knows that Marvel and DC copy each other’s characters so in “The Greatest Comic Book Doppelgangers” Ed, Ron, and Producer Bill try to determine which of these extremely similar characters is the best. Who is Marvel’s Martian Manhunter? Who is DC’s Daredevil? The answers may surprise you. Who is the best between Aquaman and Namor or Hawkeye vs. Green Arrow? What characters are more or less equal and why? Another all-timer from the crew with plenty of laughs and Jack Handey level deep thoughts on whether imitation is actually the sincerest form of flattery.
